Can we get a map going by % per capita GDP?

Iran

The data on Iran is utterly false. Iran's official minimum wage is 53 million IRR which is roughly $100 per month (if you are lucky enough to find a job). I need help to correct it. Mohagem ( talk) 18:40, 23 July 2023 (UTC) reply

They assumed each USD to be 42000 IRR. Because it's the official exchange that counts. Unofficial exchanges aren't count. Aminabzz ( talk) 17:42, 8 November 2023 (UTC) reply

2 Questions

Question 1: I understand there are many niches with regards to minimum wage but I strongly feel as though there is way too much information in the tables. Each country should have a max of 2-3 rows worth of information but some such as Australia have ~50 which means you have to scroll back and forth to compare countries only a handful of entries apart rather being able to see 40 countries minimum wage at once. Is it possible to remove all this 'excess' information by linking each entry to its relevant wikipedia page or simply providing adequate sources that the viewer can go and read if they want to understand the niches for that specific country?

Question 2: Why are social insurance contributions by the employer excluded? For example Australia has a superannuation system where the employer has to contribute at least 11% IN ADDITION of your pay to a retirement fund so wouldn't the true gross pay be 111% of the minimum wage. Say two countries had the exact same minimum wage of 100, and one country had no mandated employer contribution whereas the other had the 11% contribution, is it not wrong to say that both of these minimum wage employees are earning the same? The minimum wage employee in a country with mandatory contributions is truely earning more money per hour for their labour the only difference is they can not access it immediately. It's a matter of technicality but I feel as though to be truely representative of money earned per hour it should include such payments. AusUpdater ( talk) 05:13, 2 October 2023 (UTC) reply

Table sorting

Why is the table sorted in alphabetical order only? We need also a table sorted by the minimum wage itself from highest to lowest. I've seen other articles about the Gini index, etc that the tables are again sorted by alphabetical order in them! Aminabzz ( talk) 17:46, 8 November 2023 (UTC) reply

@ Aminabzz: It's also sortable according to the values in a given column. Under the title of that column, you can see two small triangles on each other. Once you click on them, you get the table sorted according to values in that column. HOTmag ( talk) 11:41, 16 November 2023 (UTC) reply
Thanks. Aminabzz ( talk) 13:02, 16 November 2023 (UTC) reply
I forgot to add, that if you click twice, you get the table sorted in reverse order. HOTmag ( talk) 17:24, 16 November 2023 (UTC) reply

Iran and Argentina??

Iran: How does $152 per month equate to $20,881 per year? Argentina: How does $190 per month equate to $21,350 per year?

I mean just look at the "percent of GDP" figure of Argentina to the right... they pay 950% of their GDP per capita as minimum wage? 107.15.254.76 ( talk) 00:18, 29 December 2023 (UTC) reply

Turkey

some anons from Turkey keep trying to make fools out of the readers. Wants us to believe that a minimum wage of 570$ net monthly would translate to PPP of 150k$ p.a.

Seems I must find me an admin or someone who knows why the wiki tool is spitting out that nonsense number. If anyone knows the tool enlighten me Foerdi ( talk) 23:17, 28 January 2024 (UTC) reply

Never mind. Little digging and I found out where the bullshit data comes from. Obviously the template uses 2016(!) data for its bullshit PPP calculation.
Do not revert the Turkey row again to the wrong calculation or I will seek admin help Foerdi ( talk) 23:32, 28 January 2024 (UTC) reply

Canada

Could someone please adjust the numbers for Canada? I updated the new numbers for the lowest and highest minimum wages, and the equivalent US amounts, but then realised the tables would all have to be adjusted as well, and I don't know how to do that ("nominal", "PPP", "GDP", etc), so I didn't publish the changes. I left it as is. The sentence to be changed reads: "The minimum wage in Canada is set federally and by each province and territory; ranges from CA$13 to CA$16 (US$9.69 to US$11.93) per hour." The sentence can be changed to read, " ... ranges from CAD$14 to CAD$19 (USD$10.33 to USD$14.01) per hour." and then the corresponding tables will have to be changed as well (and if anyone knows how to do it and can tell me, I can do it myself. Still learning). And FYI, the currency abbreviations/acronyms for Canadian and US currencies are "CAD" and "USD", not "CA" and "US".

On a related note, some of these figures will change later in 2024 (i.e. Ontario's minimum wage of $16.55 will rise to $17.20 on October 1, 2024), but that can dealt with later. Kubrickrules ( talk) — Preceding undated comment added 14:42, 9 April 2024 (UTC) reply
