Catawba-Linville confluence

Lake James altered the course of the Catawba River, and after studying a USGS Topo map, I find it dubious that the original Catawba/Linville confluence is under the waters of Lake James. Lake James was created by four dams, and it's primary outflow is the "Linville Dam". The outflow appears to have originally been the Linville River, but it was later renamed the Catawba River due to the change in course. Not far down-stream from the Linville Dam, is the confluence of the Catawba River and Old Catawba River. This appears to be the original Catawba/Linville confluence. The Old Catawba River is the former course of the Catawba River, and it originates from the "Catawba River Dam". – Sparkgap ( talk) 19:19, 22 August 2011 (UTC) reply
