Folk etymology and little substance

What's presented so far in this article is to 95 % folk etymology that is presented as historical fact. Oral history and ancient mythology (Hube and his sons) are not sufficient evidence to comprise the substance of a history section. At least these passages need to be marked as oral history, or they will have to go. Also, if there is no reliable source for the figure of "more than 1 million" in the population line, then this will also have to be replaced with "number unknown". Wikipedia can only display information if it is backed up by reliable sources. Please make an effort to find such sources, or this article will have to be slashed to stub size based on what sources have been given so far. Wikipedia is not a place where local trivia are presented without evidence - other dedicated websites or blogs are better places for this kind of information.

Which river is precisely meant with Wabi Šaballe? The link points to a small river in Gurage zone, but the name is reminiscent of the Shebelle river in eastern Ethiopia. Generally, the spelling of the rivers should follow the spelling on the linked pages in Wikipedia, that is Awash and Shebelle, without the Ethiopianist <š> glyph that is not used elsewhere in Wikipedia articles on Ethiopian topics.
