Good article. Though it seems fitting that something should be said about the Irish Volunteers and the National Volunteers within this article. Agree? - R. fiend
"Though large numbers of Irish men had willingly joined up, enforced conscription created a backlash that boosted Sinn Féin, the small monarchist party that had played no part in the Rising"
Sinn Fein is not a monarchist party as far as I know.
The article on January 5 lists John Redmond as calling for rebellion in 1900. Should that be in this article somewhere?
how come there isnt any information on his miltary carrer during world war one, i believe the unit made progress on the somme. It would be nice to know his role in it, considering his son made Captain and won DSO. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elephantstone ( talk • contribs) 18:38, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
"Start" rating appears outdated, suggest justifies being up-rated to a "B" level ?? Osioni 21:14, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
I'm taking an "out of hand" initiative in applying similar ratings has have been deemed fitting for Timothy Healy and Horace Plunkett since content, quality and prominance are certainly not less, with the exception of perhaps reluctance to tag Redmond with other than a "Start" Biography, or with "No" Ireland Portal rating ?. Osioni ( talk) 15:38, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Is there any evidence that John Redmond ever used the Irish form of his name? It seems odd to include it in the heading of the article unless it was actually used by him or his followers in his lifetime. It says that he made a speech to Parliament after Gladstone's conversion to Home Rule in 1866. Though i'm no expert i highly doubt this as he would of been only 10 years old!

The last paragraph, the one using quotation, in the legacy section is very opinionated. I think if it is to be included it should simply be as the view of John Horgan (representing a sympathetic opinion) rather than as the view of wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7D:86B:4A00:8D3E:76DF:DC8A:B951 ( talk) 18:27, 29 May 2019 (UTC)
