It's close to the Zero Milestone, isn't it? -- G Clark | Talk 14:49, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
There is an area on the current Jefferson Pier marker stone, immediately below the date and above the words "District of Columbia", where stone has been crudely chiseled away. The spacing of the other lines of text and the otherwise smooth surface of the stone indicate that something was once inscribed there. Does anyone know what it was?
