This article is controversial due to its political nature. Kindly refrain from using uncited information. The cited information should be from reputable sources, such as official newspapers and other international news sources.
Removing it should have little harm, since we can re-add when source is given later. For biography article, it is better to play safe when it comes to unsourced attacking statements. -- Vsion 06:15, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
Article reverted to original form, after removing offensive paragraph. Links and books written not to be removed.

Arrest of Gomez
This quote is not in the article. Can someone provide a transcript of the conversation. Furthermore the statement by itself does not sound very intimidating. Thank you for the clarification. -- Ghormax 15:25, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
One gets a sense that the writer of James Gomez has a bias towards the PAP. Unquotable "facts" like james gomez firing the first salvo are listed. (the first public statements came via PAP). Also the fact that James Gomez was the one that suggested to check the CCTV to the Elections Department is not referenced. This fact of course would absolve him of any "vast conspiracy" that naysayers might raise.
I wonder if this biography is really relevant. It sounds like a biography of someone who really wants to be on wikipedia and made an "effort" to do so. Is "Second Assistant Secretary-General and Chairman of the Policies and Communications Committee in the Workers' Party of Singapore" a really relevant person to be here?
If we allow everyone who wants to be on wikipedia to be on it without a "relevance criteria" then everyone with an internet connection would add themselves or ask a friend to do it for them.
I am sure there are more qualified people here to tell me he is indeed relevant but by the looks of it seems some of you are a little bit "biased". —Preceding unsigned comment added by Joaosaa ( talk • contribs) 17:55, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
Please see Wikipedia:Notability: "Publication in a reliable source is not always good evidence of notability:". Wikipedia is not a directory of links or lists, if need be, one single link to the repository of all the articles is sufficient. At most it belongs in the bibliography section, and only one link is necessary since I see all the articles are being listed from the same location [1] at the monash.edu site. Having the list of published articles by him as it was located so high in the article is illogical in any case. Zhanzhao ( talk) 08:52, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
Made some minor edits, mainly with regards to standardizing the naming. Honorifics are unnecessary, nor is stating the full name of the subject when he is the only "Gomez" in the whole article so there's no chance of confusion. On the aside, I moved the 2001 election participation higher up to before the 2006 election is mentioned, just to put it in proper chronology. Zhanzhao ( talk) 07:02, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
I did an IP trace on 130.194.XX. It originates from Monash University Victoria Australia. The place where the subject of the article is currently working. Should this be tagged as possible self-promotion? Zhanzhao ( talk) 03:09, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
