Date of 1960 for first edition

I believe that a date in this article is incorrect. It is shown as 1960 and most likely should be 1860

I know that it sounds like a mistake, but the date in the article is right. There was no original edition before 1960 (see here for example. The fact the Laforgue had access to the original manuscript still seems to be discussed too, but it is clear that this edition was not faithful to the manuscript at all...) Code of Conduct

I removed the Code of conduct categorization, as I think it does not apply to Histoire de ma vie. It is an Autobiography, not a code of conduct; and especially with Casanova, who wrote in one of the first pages of this book: Le lecteur qui aime à penser verra dans ces mémoires que n'ayant jamais visé un point fixe, le seul système que j'eus, si c'en est un, fut de me laisser aller ou le vent qui soufflait me poussait (The reader of these Memoirs will discover that I never had any fixed aim before my eyes, and that my system, if it can be called a system, has been to glide away unconcernedly on the stream of life, trusting to the wind wherever it led) Hervegirod 21:58, 22 May 2007 (UTC) reply

Citations for first English translation by Arthur Machen

Here are citations for the first English translation of Histoire de ma vie into English.

The first is the individual Worldcat record for the complete set:

  • "Worldcat record for the complete six volume transtation of The Memoirs of Jacques Casanova de Seingalt by Arthur Machen".

Next are the URLs for the individual volumes. All of them have the same OCLC #.

Citations are non-standard

The citations in the Histoire de ma vie § Additional publication history section are all non-standard & do not have ISBN or OCLC links. This is messy. I plan to work through them to rectify the problem. Peaceray ( talk) 18:03, 28 February 2024 (UTC) reply
