The introduction section sounds like it's copied straight out of a guide book:

"Please note that there might be changes in the timing as per the season."

I think some should be transferred into the opening paragraph and history while deleting the scheduled times all together.

I don't understand why sometimes it's one word? I mean if one guru's name is Har Rai. Or Har Krishn. In Hinduism they might say Har Ram. Or Har Krishn. Or Hari OM.....So....Why is the Temple not Har Mandir? Why is it one word like like then Harmandir? I mean im not trying to fight. Im asking. Ok so how come some of the Gurus names are seperated with two words? I don't get why sometime's it's one word and sometime's it's two then? From what I can gather,the temple was destroyed by Ahman Shah forces in 1757. Even this article states that it was "substantialy rebuilt" after this event.Therefore I believe this warrants mention in the facts posted under the picture. I support the removal of the quote cited to this article. I do think the source belongs.

I propose to drop the quote, which is far too POVish to be used in that way, wp:BALANCE would require a long discussion here that surely has been carried out in articles about Blue Star, Sikh separatism, etc. If not, then it should, IMO, be addressed there.

I think the facts are clear: he was there, accused of terrorism, resisted arrest for same. The opinion about whose fault that was, whether he was guilty or not, right or wrong, etc. seems offtopic to the temple article. I will make this change, just once, as a proposed compromise. I don't plan to become involved in the editing of the article, and will not be watching. About the phrase, "The temple is surrounded by a large lake, known as the Sarovar, which consists of Amrit ("holy water" or "immortal nectar")", is this Sarovar classified as Temple tank (kalyani)? Is the word "Sarovar" only related to Sikhism and only to this temple? Wiki-uk ( talk) 09:45, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Sarovar refers to the holy body of water, its a Punjabi word, it is not only specific to the Harmandir Sahib. Gsingh ( talk) 02:57, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
