Comparative testing of explanatory power

An example of a situation which requires a comparative quantitative test of explanatory power of two models/hypotheses is the situation of the magnetic moment of the neutron. It seems that the two structure models (Quark structure and Rutherford structure) which are supposed to explain the observed neutron magnetic moment are not tested comparatively to see which has a better explanatory power.-- 193.231.19.53 ( talk) 11:37, 10 December 2013 (UTC) reply
