As said before here and elsewhere, there's nothing wrong with the terminology currently being employed. Reliable citations calling East Florida a "colony" include these found in a 5-minute Google Books search. [1] [2] [3] There's no reason for the change; please stop edit warring. I wish we could use this article for present-day material. Not the precise definition it had then.
But (for example), major league baseball teams want to move their spring baseball training venues from the East Coast of Florida to the West Coast of Florida so they don't have to drive so far. Student7 ( talk) 18:01, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
I propose that this article be moved to British East Florida and a new article, Spanish East Florida, be written for the second Spanish period (1783-1820). This would be consistent with the corresponding British West Florida and Spanish West Florida. — ℜob C. alias ÀLAROB 00:15, 21 May 2012 (UTC)

The map of East Florida is incomplete. The image used is from a map of West Florida and clips East Florida from view. It needs to updated with a complete diagram or drawing of East Florida... Stevenmitchell ( talk) 07:12, 16 November 2020 (UTC)
