Is anyone aware of McDermott's ethnic origins? His name sounds Irish, yet his appearance is somewhat Oriental.
That is still in doubt
In the Wiki article its posted
McDermott is also half-Korean, and was adopted by an American couple from Korea.
but i see there maybe some doubt to this as mentioned on this another website
Wikipedia claims Patrick is half-Korean, but that has not been verified at this time.

His ethnicity may or may not be important, but I'm shocked at how presumptive the question is. Half Korean and half... What? The article seems to imply that this is a solved missing persons case by placing a link to a list of such cases at the end. Yet l am not so sure.
