Calling it Negro Island is innaccurate, there are hundreds of postcards and other items labeling the island "Nigger Island."
No, the postcard is sold and has been for some time. Image remains. I used to live on the coast across from this island, and no one called it 'negro' or 'Curtis,' but the locals explained it was named after the 'niggerhead' rocks that made the soil worthless for cultivation.
