Wuhan Institute of Virology material/purpose of article

I removed the Wuhan Institute of Virology section as it is covered at Misinformation related to the 2019–20 coronavirus outbreak and it's bad Wikipedia practice to have the same material on two articles: see WP:REDUNDANTFORK. An IP editor has restored it.

Not only is it bad practice to have the same material twice, but I think having the material here is misleading. "Controversy" implies that there's some possible truth when we're just dealing with a bunch of conspiracy theories. I think the material should remain on the Misinformation article.

Beyond that, I'm not certain I see the point of this article. WP:CRIT warns against Controversy sections and spin-off articles. We would be better covering all the material here elsewhere perhaps. Bondegezou ( talk) 08:57, 26 February 2020 (UTC) reply
