Restoration of the article proposal

Why is this redirected and removed? I suggest we restore the article to align with other languages and give consensus (possibly RFC(m) to reestablish the article like Korea is. - 184.146.39.97 ( talk) 01:42, 1 December 2021 (UTC) reply

The proposed article is poorly sourced and seems to duplicate much of the subject matter in the China article. What is the rationale for splitting it as proposed? — Mx. Granger ( talk · contribs) 07:21, 1 December 2021 (UTC) reply
Here's the slight problem, China is the name of the region that encompasses mainland China and Taiwan island and is governed by two separate entities since the division in 1949. It needs a slight rewording and format similar to Korea and is the only article in the English Wikipedia that did not follow the structure used in the China article on the Chinese Wikipedia. — 184.146.39.97 ( talk) 08:15, 1 December 2021 (UTC) reply
What divison do you mean? Republic China existed before 1949 and still exists. In 1949 Communists just created their own Communist China (People's Republic of China) which was unrecognised state. It is similar to occupied territories of Ukraine today. Eurohunter ( talk) 10:57, 20 May 2022 (UTC) reply

With the split possible, do you support or oppose the change? - 184.146.39.97 ( talk) 08:24, 1 December 2021 (UTC) reply

I oppose it, as the proposed article is poorly sourced and duplicates too much subject matter that should be covered in China and other articles. It's also unclear to me how the proposed topic differs from the Greater China region (the redirect's current target). — Mx. Granger ( talk · contribs) 14:27, 1 December 2021 (UTC) reply
Why is thei an RfC matter (see WP:RFCNOT)? Surely WP:DRV would be more appropriate. -- Redrose64 🌹 ( talk) 22:38, 1 December 2021 (UTC) reply
Or maybe WP:RfD. The last RfD discussion resulted in a retarget, but I see the redirect's target has been changed a couple of times since then, so maybe another RfD discussion is warranted. — Mx. Granger ( talk · contribs) 09:48, 2 December 2021 (UTC) reply
