Hey, what has to be done to increase the article from B Class to an A Class article? Thanks Dgreco ( Talk)

This article needs a lot of cleanup and work. There are a lot of organizational issues such as many small sections that 1)need to be expanded with proper info and 2) need to be condensed with similar sections. Any grammar and spelling issues need to be corrected. The article needs a lot more in-line citations and references. etc... It helps to take a look at other B A, and GA-rated articles for examples. Fair use rationale for Image:Bryant logo.gif

Image:Bryant logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image complies with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there are other fair-use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair-use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Highly-Selective

With a 36% acceptance rate and a 1760 SAT average, as listed in the admissions section, is this school really "highly selective" as the article's introduction claims? Dwr12 ( talk) 06:05, 18 September 2008 (UTC) reply

--the highly-selective listing is through US News college rankings.

I visited the US news website and it lists the college as "more selective" (not the highest category) and its acceptance rate is 43.8% Dwr12 ( talk) 21:52, 18 September 2008 (UTC) reply
The phrase "highly selective" has no place in the article, least of all in the opening sentence of the lead, which is why I have removed it. It is a weasel phrase and peacock term that conveys no actual meaning than to serve as boosterism for the institution. Furthermore, no institution or publication classifies colleges as "highly" selective, so it's not even verifiable. Assert facts, not opinions and just describe the admissions numbers (number of applicants, number admitted, number matriculated, and freshmen retention) in the body of the article and don't tell the reader what to think. Campus Information

The structure of this article needs to be reconsidered.

I would cite as my main example that nearly half of the article includes overly detailed examinations of the campus facilities and buildings. There is no need for such a level of detail about each building on Bryant's campus, specifically when those buildings carry very little significance. Please trim this section down to only pertinent and informative details required to describe Bryant's campus and better incorporate it within the article itself. Believeitornot05 ( talk) 19:52, 8 December 2009 (UTC) reply

  • You're right. More than excessively detailed, those sections were purely promotional, in my opinion, as were other parts of the article. I detect a COI somewhere. Thanks, Drmies ( talk) 18:23, 27 July 2010 (UTC) reply

Updating the first sentence of Bryant University entry

Hi. The first sentence of the Bryant University entry is now out of date and contains incorrect information.

It currently reads

Bryant University is a private university, located in Smithfield, Rhode Island, U.S., that grants degrees of bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, and master's degrees in business, taxation, and accounting. Until August 2004, it was known as Bryant College.[2]

It should read

Bryant University is a private university, located in Smithfield, Rhode Island, U.S., that grants the degrees of bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, and master's degrees in communication, teaching, global environmental science, business, taxation, and accounting. Until August 2004, it was known as Bryant College.[2]

I'd add it but I do not see an area that allows me to edit this sentence.
