Perhaps this needs a discussion of Hosea's contribution to the development of the idea of covenant (בְּרִית). If one accepts Van Seeters' post-exilic date for the Yahwist, Hosea is the earliest book in the canon to use covenant as a metaphor for YHWH's relationship with Israel (and does so in theological, as well as political, terms).

- discussion - no discussion needed, if it is part of the book stick it in! - let people decide for themselves - leaving out Hosea, is this an attempt to sensor?

No "Citation Needed" for claims of inconsistency in the Bible?

I have never edited anything on WikiPedia, forgive me if I'm doing anything wrong. I just want to say that I am a bit perturbed to find a statement saying that the Bible contains contradicting information, and without any citation, nor a tag saying "citation needed". Like millions of people around the world, I consider The Bible to be the infallible word of God, transcribed by humans under his direct guidance, so I would like some evidence before this sacred book is slandered. I found this page because I was looking for the source of the verse "My people perish for lack of knowledge". I certainly would like to have knowledge of anything that claims to disprove the Bible's absolute truth. - Matthias Breithaupt, Atlanta, GA, USA —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.46.202.68 ( talk) 14:08, 6 May 2010 (UTC) reply
