Carroll College does not have a graduate program. I fail to see how he can be characterized as anything other than an employee of his dads during the season after he graduated. Can someone fix this, along with the Coaching Career Box? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.117.130.168 ( talk) 15:00, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
Why is section 3.5 of the article still here? merely a bad joke with nothing to back it up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ponyboyfloyd ( talk • contribs) 09:17, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
No, the first two-sentences of the article are "Robert Patrick "Bobby" Petrino (born March 10, 1961)[2] is an American football coach, currently the head coach at Louisville. From 2008 to 2011, he coached the University of Arkansas until his dismissal in the spring of 2012 for having an "inappropriate relationship" with a female employee." Not only is that run-on and merging aspects of the career, but the first is also grammatically incorrect - it should be "...who is currently the head coach..." The second sentence is linguistically incorrect, and should be "...He was head coach at the University of Arkansas from 2008 until his dismissal in the spring of 2012 for..." - currently it states that he coached there until 2011, yet that he wasn't dismissed until 2012. Additionally, a single paragraph mentions virtually every former employer as a "mentor," as noted by the individual who followed my original comment. There are many such problems in this article, which is what I was pointing out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:CD3E:8BE0:D02F:8FBA:78DA:3280 ( talk) 02:38, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
This article was already updated to say "ACC" as conference and "Louisville" as current employer before the announcement (which still hasn't taken place). For a "semi-locked" page, there is still no scrutiny for accuracy. Also, it is littered with grammatical mistakes beginning as early as the 2nd sentence (if the sentence is past-tense, the action verbs within it must be past-tense); how many "mentors" can an individual have in a single paragraph; etc.
- submitted 01/08/2014 9:45PM
I also found the use of "mentor" a bit unclear. "Mentor" means more than just former boss or employer. Unless there's some source showing that his former bosses/employers/supervisors had a "mentor-like" relationship, they should be called something like former boss or former supervisor rather than "mentor." --

Petrino is not the coach at Arkansas. The rumors that he is, are exactly that, rumors and until it's official, it should be removed from this article. I've read several "news reports" that says he's staying in the NFL. So again, until the University of Arkansas or Petrino himself says he's the head coach at Arkansas, it should not be in this article. Period. -- ALLSTAR echo 00:45, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Both references cited clearly attribute this claim to "sources" and don't officially say he's the new Arkansas coach, so I don't see how we can either without speculating about the future, which is not a good idea per WP:NOT#CRYSTAL. -- W.marsh 02:55, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

If you want to post how great Pat Forde thinks Petrino is, make a Praise and Criticism section. There's no reason for the article to be headlined by something Pat Forde said about Petrino. If that, why not a quote from a different writer who called Petrino "one of the biggest snakes alive today"? The article, and especially the first paragraph, should stick to facts, not meaningless quotes from irrelevant writers. Enigmaman ( talk) 20:54, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Why is there a reference to an article that doesn't talk about his "innovative offensive mind"? It only denigrates Petrino. So why leave that reference there? I have tried to correct it by referring to an article that DOES talk about him being an offensive genius, only to see it removed and my hand slapped. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Clearlybiased ( talk • contribs) 14:04, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

It seems there is some inconsistency in regards to linking to the university's page, such as Missouri State University, or linking to the sports team's page for that respective institution, such as Missouri State Bears football. Some pages appear to make the distinction that the person coaches the football team rather than saying they are a coach at a particular institution.
For example, Nick Saban's page reads "head football coach at the University of Alabama" whereas Lane Kiffin's page reads, "Kiffin was the offensive coordinator at the University of Alabama." I'm assuming the referenced article just needs to match how the referencing article is worded. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sir hobbes3 ( talk • contribs) 00:16, 16 January 2020 (UTC)
