Blank table

@pageantlover123456 : It is always good to prepare a results table in advance so one just has to fill it up on the coronation night. There isn't any harm. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pageantlover123456 ( talkcontribs) 15:04, 11 March 2018 (UTC) reply

@ Pagentlover123456: Thank you for engaging in discussion. I've moved your posting from my Talk page over to here, because this will be the better place to have this discussion.

Perhaps you are not aware of this, but the Wikipedia community has become increasingly unwilling to accept blank tables in articles (and not just entire tables -- it is also unwilling to accept blank lines in tables). The "harm" comes from presenting the reader with what appears to be a sloppy, unfinished article. Preparing a table in advance is a good idea, but it will be better to do that in the Sandbox of your user page. When the information becomes available, you can fill it in and then add the completed table to the article.

You can create your own sandbox by clicking here and following the instructions. Or, you can create User:Pageantlover123456 (by clicking on this link). After creating your user page, you can create the sandbox by adding {{ My sandbox}} (including the two curly brackets at the beginning and end) at the top of the page. But the easiest option is to simply click the Sandbox link that appears at the top of the screen when you are logged in.

Right now, you have not gained a consensus to include a blank table in the article and, per WP:NOCONSENSUS, I'll be removing it. But I'll be happy to continue discussions here. NewYorkActuary ( talk) 15:43, 11 March 2018 (UTC) reply
