Can someone else finish wikifying this? I'm not that interested in this kind of thing. -- Ellmist
This article contains many misconceptions about the ancient Assyrians as being purely militaristic. It was the ancient city of Ashur which was known for its extensive trade networks and merchant colonies in Anatolia. Also, agriculture began in the region of Assyria-proper and surrounding areas of northern Mesopotamia, so to reduce the Assyrians to a purely militaristic society is very naiive and incorrect.
This article should be redone properly to include factual information about ancient Assyria and Babylonia, and not simply somebody's assumptions based on (limited) mainstream knowledge of Mesopotamia. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 207.35.187.66 ( talk) 16:20, 17 March 2007 (UTC).
This short article would make sense as a section in the main article. Sumerophile ( talk) 20:28, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
