Arnold Blackner as the cowboy tenor

... that Arnold Blackner (pictured) was said to be the first person to sing over 3,000 miles (4,800 km) on the telephone? Source: "The tenor attracted considerable attention when he sang over long distance telephone from the Jonathan club in Los Angeles to the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. It is claimed that this was the first time a song was ever successfully carried a distance of 3,000 miles by telephone wire." 1931 article in The Greeley Daily Tribune

Opera singer?

There's no indication in the article that he ever sang an opera anywhere. "Opera singer" is not the correct term here.

Katherine Maria Jenkins OBE (born 29 June 1980) is a Welsh singer. She is a mezzo-soprano and performs operatic arias, popular songs, musical theatre, and hymns.

She is described as a 'singer' not an 'opera-singer', and her article is in the Musician category, and not in the Opera one, which seems right. The same should happen here. Scarabocchio ( talk) 18:39, 13 June 2022 (UTC) reply
