How to display the *.kmz maps?

The article provides two links to two comprehensive historic maps in *.kmz format. If you want to open them, you may use the following procedure:

  1. Download both Argonnenbahn-West.kmz and Argonnenbahn-Ost.kmz onto your hard drive.
  2. (Install and then) run "Google Earth" (this is not identical to "Google Maps")
  3. Choose "File" and "Open..." to open both files one after the other. They will be superimposed onto the map and can be displayed simultaneously. If the wrong map is on top you may help yourself by unticking and ticking one box or the other box.
  4. You can adjust the transparency by a slider.
  5. Zooming out and zooming in reduces the distortion, if you re-centre the map in between.-- NearEMPTiness ( talk) 16:36, 18 October 2020 (UTC) reply
