I have re-created and developed the article a little. Soon after it was created (Jan. 8), it was submitted for deletion - on Jan. 22 by an editor who has since been blocked indefinitely, and again on Feb. 6 by the same editor with a sockpuppet account. The first AfD was closed. After the second, it was decided to merge the article with the Gabrielle Giffords article, with the last commenter saying, "No prejudice against re-creation of article if significant coverage expands to meet notability threshold in the subject's own right."
The article has reached that point. First, it was never just Giffords' organization, but also that of Mark Kelly, but second, and more importantly, it has been covered regularly by third-party sources since its founding, as citations now show.

On the advice of another user (admin) I added this article to Did you know nominations. I've never done that before, so - patience please. Hope I did it right.
I have worked with citizens of Latin American countries and am also a member of the Countering Systemic Bias project. Many Latin Americans object to the use of the word "American" to refer to the United States. Therefore, I use "United States" or "U.S." as a more-specific and culturally sensitive qualifier. The organization has changed its named from Americans for Responsible Solutions to simply Giffords, with apparently subgroups named 'Giffords Law Center' and 'Giffords PAC'. Not sure how to address these changes in the article, or what the formal name of the article should now be. Anastrophe ( talk) 17:53, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
