This is in response to recent edits by User:Walrasiad. Pay attention to pages 179-180 about information regarding the Roman Pontifical of Braga and Coimbra dioceses from 12th and 13th centuries (why bother including a coronation rite if it's never performed?): https://repositorio.ucp.pt/bitstream/10400.14/17362/1/V02402-173-194.pdf The entire Latin ceremony is described from page 185 onwards. Pay attention to section 14 (pages 189-190). The metropolitan bishop alone crowns the King's head, intoning the words: "Accipe coronam regni..."

Isn't it 'Alfonso'? ~i
The article states that retired to a monastery in Sintra where he died in 1481. There may be a monastery in Sintra, but as far as I know, it was constructed later. In other sources I have found the information that he died in Sintra, "on his way" to a monastery for his retirement. It may be the "Convento de Varatojo", but I don´t know. Any comments on that? – Xauxa ( talk) 17:33, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

I removed his title as King of Galicia because the part of the old Kingdom of Galicia he ruled was ruled under his title as King of Portugal. His claim to Galicia was the same as his claim to Castile and Leon, just a claim.-- The Emperor's New Spy ( talk) 23:53, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
