This article should not exist, as there's no separation between the Sahrawi protests in late 2010 and early 2011. The protests were a continuous (although with ups & downs) since the dismantlement and destruction of the Gdeim Izik protest camp and the student clashes in Smara (November 2010), the killing of Said Dambar (December 2010), students clashes in Smara again, Sahrawi fishermen protests in Bojador, increasingly inmigration of Sahrawi refugees to the Canary islands (January 2011), and finally the Dakhla clashes (February 2011). There's no reason to split the article, as no reliable references or sources had defined a separated and different Sahrawi protests in 2011 than in 2010. Hope this would be fixed soon. - We've had this discussion numerous times and everyone who has chimed in across multiple pages disagrees with you. A couple of incidents between major protests in early November and late February - including trends in emigration, really? - aren't a bridge, they're life as usual in a contested territory. Please stop making disruptive edits and acting like you own all Western Sahara content on Wikipedia. It's really quite unhelpful. -

- Please ignore HCPUNXKID. He is extremely passionate about the Western Sahara and the slightest thing he disagrees with, he thinks is POV and will keep edit warring. I oppose the proposed merge since the Gdeim Izik protest merits an article on its own. The 2011–2012 protests, which were far less reported on, are linked but not the same as there are regularly sporadic pro-independence/social demands protests especially in Laayoune. -- Tachfin ( talk) 17:42, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
