State elections

Should we make separate articles for the state elections? Maybe we could do something like: Peninsular Malaysia state elections, 2008, and Sabah state election, 2008. Its separated coz, Peninsular states always have their elections simultaneously, while in Sabah and Sarawak, their elections are sometimes held at different times. Not practical, considering we'll inevitably have to manage three/four articles (one on the GE, one on the peninsular and one or two on East Malaysia). The GE is basically the election in the peninsular, and the East Malaysian elections, intended to take place in separate timelines, is outside the timetable of the actual GE. Having two/three (one on the GE, one on the peninsular, and one or two on East Malaysia) from the current setup is more than enough. We'll be expecting more intensive edits in the coming weeks, and some centralisation helps to maintain consistency, reduce repetition and provide more visible space to contribute stuff. - Two hundred percent ( talk) 10:41, 25 February 2008 (UTC) reply

I think the point he is making is that the coalition called Pakatan Rakyat did not exist before, during and at the conclusion of this election. During the election, DAP, PKr and PAS agreed to cooperate under an informal coalition without a name (or perhaps known as Barisan Rakyat). The name Pakatan Rakyat only came into existence a few weeks after the elections. Maybe we should reflect this fact in this article. As of today, PR is still not registered with the registrar of societies as a formal coalition of political parties. Personally i think this part is not so important/notable to highlight in this article. ќמшמφטтгמ torque 12:02, 7 December 2009 (UTC) reply

Pakatan Rakyat

utk pengetahuan semua, pakatan rakyat tak berdaftar dgn spr..pas, pkr dan dap bertanding guna lambang parti sendiri..

Brief translation (post above was not me) - Pakaran Rakyat (PR, People's Pact) is not an officially registered coalition/party. Their candidates use their respective party logos. PS I'm not sure how it relates to the article Khing ( talk) 02:02, 7 December 2009 (UTC) reply

By-election results

Why aren't the results of by-election included here? In principle they are part of the general election —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.167.150.240 ( talk) 07:17, 18 June 2010 (UTC) reply

By-elections are separate from the 2008 general election and they have their own pages (eg Sibu by-election, 2010).-- Mkativerata ( talk) 07:31, 18 June 2010 (UTC) reply
