I think siege is a little over-dramatic. -- tariqabjotu 02:45, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
I don't want to turn this into an edit war. Recently Grazon has been making several edits adding a new section "The Shooter" with information about the hostage-taker. This information is already emphasized twice in the article, and I believe that this short of a section is not needed at least until more evidence is acquired regarding the hostage-taker. The information about the man presented in the introduction and in the sections following are sufficient in explaining his appearance and nature. Before I remove it, I will ask the opinion of editors currently thinking about editing the article. — Webdinger BLAH | SZ 03:39, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
Where exactly is it stated that the shooter was 35? I thought his identity was unknown (or at least unreleased to the public)...oh, and who the hell calls a backpack a 'rucksack' (aside from the BBC World News)? - Grammaticus Repairo 06:32, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
Interesting Trivia: The Victim is also on the track team which took 1st place in some of the meets held this year: http://216.239.51.104/search?q=cache:nFk-bRt8JUYJ:www.directathletics.com/athletes/track/573633.html+%22Emily+Keyes%22+colorado&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sakamura ( talk • contribs)
The girl who was fatally shot was 16-year-old Emily Keyes. http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_4407535 —Preceding unsigned comment added by DJ Craig ( talk • contribs)
The Park Co. Sheriff has named the shooter as "Duane R. Morrison" (not Dwayne as originally reported). I have put in pipes to correctly name him in the article (but leave the link to the Dwayne article). I have also requested at WP:AN an admin move of the Dwayne article to its corrected title of Duane R. Morrison. Unfortunately, an established article at that title requires admin assistance to avoid any messiness of page moves. ju66l3r 17:51, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
In the intro it says "He was initially reported as a bearded 35-year-old man with a camouflage backpack[2] and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt[3] who had taken six female students as hostages and released four of them while keeping the other two.", is this the entire initial report or just the mans description? I think this needs some clarification —Preceding unsigned comment added by XHPrime ( talk • contribs)
I heard today on fox news the backpack was fileld with sex toys? Any confirmation on this 65.126.173.217 01:41, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
I would like to stress that if you plan to add information to this article, please offer a reference so that all information is verifiable. For more information, see WP:REF. Thanks. — † Webdinger BLAH | SZ 04:02, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
I added some information about the sexual assault as stated by Lynna Long who is reported to be one of the six hostages, as well as Sheriff Wegener’s statement that all the girls were molested. Sources CNN & WBBM sited. Others availabe.
I’ve removed the Cassidy Grigg comments. He was not there, and there is no reason to include his comments, and then the comments his mother made about him lying, when there are statements from the sheriff and one of the hostages. No reason to leave it in there as there are other statements that provide the same info accurately, without having to point out Mr. Grigg & his mother.
Removed redundancy in negotiation section about the sexual assault as it was already covered earlier; because the sheriff has made statements regarding the assault, so the knowledgeable source is known; and because it doesn’t have much to do with the negotiations. 146.129.249.238 20:45, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Can we please figure out what to put in the see also section? There are many school shootings that have occurred and will probably continue to occur, so what needs to be in there and what doesn't? Metros232 02:35, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
The intro was a little confusing. I think it would be a little more clear if we added "One of the remaining hostages was shot by Morrison during a SWAT team raid" or something like that to clarify the situation. Thoughts?-- Andrew c 18:11, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
I had removed this link [1] as it was down and a Google cache didn't show anything that interesting so I assumed it was probably spam and I neglected to do a whois. However a whois reveals it is in fact register to her father since 2001. It has understadibly been taken down and may or may not reappear as a memorial or whatever. However in the mean time, I personally feel we should leave it but I won't re-add it if someone removes it. Nil Einne 05:19, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
I changed the part under "Negotians..." where it said Mr. Keyes used a reporter's phone to text message Emily. He in fact used his own. I am new to Wikipedia and will register...sometime (hopefully soon) but i was anxious to get to bed when i fixed that and didn't properly cite my sources. Here are several and thanks to everyone for being kind to the newbie about this!
CBS11tv.com: < http://cbs11tv.com/national/topstories_story_271181325.html>
Cbs4denver.com: < http://cbs4denver.com/baileytragedy/local_story_271174141.html>
rockymountainnews.com: < http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/local/article/0,1299,DRMN_15_5045175,00.html>
These are just a few sources and are admittedly a bit biased toward Denver and CBS, but they are all accurate, reliable and legit. In addition the Dateline NBC on 10/7/06 (i think - i have it Tivoed but that doesn't help much here does it?) showed Mr. Keyes holding his phone with the text messages in it and showing them to Meredith Viera.
Though it is irrelevent, Emily Keyes was a personal friend of mine and I really care about this wikipedia page. Any advice all you more experinced members could give me for further bettering my edits or this edit or this page would be great! Thanks again!
P.S. it wants me to sign my edit using four tildes, what does that mean? I'm a bit confused. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.56.247.123 ( talk) 05:30, 13 December 2006 (UTC).

I think that Duane R. Morrison should be redirected here. No merging is needed; there is absolutely no information in that article that isn't already present in this article. A separate biography for this person appears to be unnecessary. Although the crime may be notable, that doesn't automatically make the criminal notable. -- Bongwarrior ( talk) 08:52, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
