- The claim of three fatalities was a recent unexplained and unsourced change to the article, so I have reverted it. Thanks for pointing this out. -- Deskford ( talk) 23:09, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- A BMJ article give the following information which is quoted for clarity: "There were 507 cases, derived from 309 households in the city and 33 in the surrounding districts, with three deaths. I removed the statement that the incident led to the eventual closure of Fray Bentos, this is patently untrue as the Fray Bentos(food brand) continues to this day. Stub Mandrel ( talk) 10:21, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
