This article's major problem is POV but I will put this on hold for seven days. After which, I'll decide whether to pass or fail base on the improvements. Thank you. -- Efe ( talk) 00:39, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Much of the information given in this article is entirely inaccurate. The original album was "Jazz Track." The reissue is "1958 Miles." The image given is a Japanese compilation -- not a US release from 1958. [1]
The track sequence is taken from "'58 Sessions," which was not released until 1991. [2]
The catalog numbering system for Columbia in 1958 was CL (Mono) and CS (Stereo), so SL-1958 does not exist. The catalog number for "Jazz Track" is CL/CS 1268.
The AllMusicGuide citation given for "1958 Miles" is also incorrect. A look at the release tab on that page reveals that the earliest release is 1997. [3]
Finally, clicking on the citation for SL-1268 reveals that no release year is given for the item on that page (it is number 159), while other items have release years. [4]
"1958 Miles" is a compilation, not an official album. As a result, this article should be rewritten and changed to "'58 Sessions." Infamous30 ( talk) 08:45, 26 February 2013 (UTC)

I created a proper page for the original Jazz Track album, hope it satisfies some of the above concerns
I would like to revise the chronology for this album on this page, so it falls in the correct sequence, but am still confused: Discogs shows it as being a 1979 Japan only release, not 1974 ( http://www.discogs.com/Miles-Davis-1958-Miles/master/285470) ..... if that's right, this falls in the period when Miles was not recording, so between Pangea and The Man with the Horn? ...... except that since its a compilation, there were other compilations released between '75 & '81 that also should be counted, so its not so simple ...... anyway, it definitely did not come out between Porgy & Bess and Kind of Blue

Lacks citation in album review section which reads a bit like a review instead of information. Andrzejbanas ( talk) 22:29, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
