Apparently his name was Authur A. Evans. His records are available on Fold 3. [ Evans#20/223693462/] Apparently he started off as a Third Lieuteant in Captain Buchanan's Company on 2 November 1861. He was wounded in the left thigh at the Battle of Corinth, and he signed the muster roll as commanding the company. He was promoted to Captain, in place of Captain Buchanan on December 16, 1862.
