I would be interested in an answer to this question. While many educated people were aware of this book in the 1930s, I haven't heard of its sparking any change in public protection from chemicals, additives, or tobacco products. Not the way Dr. Harvey W. Wiley's experiments brought the harmful effects of food additives and preservatives to the public's awareness through newspaper stories. It is highly unlikely that this out of print 1933 book has any active cover art copyright holder today. In the 9 years since the bot published this notice, not one copyright complaint has appeared here. Fair use is obvious, since WP is an encyclopedia, which is a type of reference work. The article does not seem to mention this book's disclosure of the many harmful and addictive ingredients in cigarettes and their deleterious effects on health, going well beyond nicotine and coal tar. This was one of the first of such disclosures, way before public awareness, way before the government began regulating them, and way before medical personnel became aware of the enormous danger to public health.
