Linking to other wikis

Hey @ Damien Linnane: I follow the guidelines on Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Linking#Interwiki_links: "To avoid reader confusion, inline interlanguage, or interwiki, linking within an article's body text is generally discouraged...and {{ Interlanguage link}} template may be helpful to show a red link accompanied by an interlanguage link if no article exists in English Wikipedia". This approach makes sure the link to another language still exists, but also gives a red link to invite the creation of the article and replace the other language link when an English article has been created. Not everyone speaks German. Hope this explains my reasoning and I hope you agree to revert to my edit. Dajasj ( talk) 12:05, 19 November 2021 (UTC) reply

I now see the misunderstanding, I forgot to include a parameter. Thanks for fixing that FMSky. Dajasj ( talk) 20:28, 19 November 2021 (UTC) reply
@ Dajasj: ...yeah, if your edit had used the template properly I wouldn't have reverted it. I couldn't figure out what you were trying to do since I'm not familiar with the template and your new link linked to nothing. Perhaps consider also following the guidelines of Help:Edit summary in the future. If you explain what you're trying to do in the edit summary, people might be better able to fix things themselves if you get something wrong.
