Rim or Semi-rim?

Shouldn't the .308 Marlin Express be classified as a semi-rimmed cartridge? Judging by images I've seen of the cartridge it does not have a traditional rim, like on a .30-30, but a small rim plus a full extractor groove. Which in my book makes it a semi-rim. Comparison with Winchester .308 is Needed

I would like to see pictures of both rounds side by side. Also, I would like to know if a .308 Marlin can be safely fired in a standard .308. ( EnochBethany ( talk) 22:20, 4 January 2013 (UTC)) reply
