I'm finding it hard to believe that Šulin is the official name although I read the source which appears to give a renamed list from Albanian into Macedonian. I don't know very much Albanian but I take it the information on the article is correct. To my knowledge, Macedonian is an official language in Albania but not with the same status as Albanian, so there must be compulsory education in Albanian in schools just as signs are sure to be bilingual. In addition, even if the Republic of Albania adopted the Macedonian name, it would have had to go through a process of Albanianisation for orthographical reasons, thus Macedonian "Š" is Albanian "Sh" (producing Shulin). Thanks Local Hero, now the whole situation makes more sense, both here and for Pustec. When you stated some time back that you would be shifting a handful of Albanian settlements to their Macedonian titles based on official recognition, what you actually meant to say was that Albanian itself had changed to adopt the Macedonian names in place of its traditional names (even if those Albanian names continued among the Albanian local communities). The name Shulin is compatible for that language. At the moment we have work to do, Shulin already directs to Shulin District (Taiwan) and I see a Sulin also exists with nothing citing the Albanian settlement.
