...states "who was the first to demonstrate the technique of optogenetics,". Is this correct? In my understanding, optogenetics is defined by genetic manipulation to render cells light sensitive. The earliest genetically targeted experiments were reported by Zemelman and Miesenböck. Zhuo-Hua Pan had an important role in the global effort to get optogenetics off the ground, but I think this statement should be rephrased. Any opinions? --
