- Zebaleen appears to be a more common transliteration in English. Both articles contain useful information, so I think care should be taken during any merge. — Zerida 00:46, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- In searching the two spellings, Zabbaleen appears more in news sotries, such as CNN and BBC, while Zabaleen is used on more coloquial pages, such as blogs and .org sites. I would therefore go with "bb", "Zabbaleen". I agree that a careful merging is important as they both contain good, information. Jrc272 09:34, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- I would assess that the two spellings are used with about the same frequency online (there are similar numbers of Google results for each, etc), however I concur that the "bb" spelling is probably the better one. - 'Zabbaleen' corresponds more accurately to how the word is pronounced because of a feature in the language called gemination. I am not an expert on the topic itself however, so I would go with whatever is used more often in literature. — Zerida 06:11, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
