Which "combat zone" does the song refer to? Many think it is Boston's Combat Zone (Boston). I've not found any clear support, but lots of conjecture. One fact: Billy Joel gave a concert at the Boston Garden Friday, September 15, 1978, not long before the song was released. Coincidence? I think not, but it isn't proof.
