I uploaded a new picture of Ye Old Fighting Cocks and I took the liberty of putting the new picture at the top, just because it shows the name of the pub. If I have p***ed anyone off, please feel free to move the pictures around again.

Er...So how old is it then?
If this really is the oldest pub in Britain, when are we claiming it was founded? A few dates seem to be thrown around here, but its not clear which (if any) is supposed to be the important one

I can't believe this question still has not been answered, more than two years after it was first posted. I wondered exactly the same thing after reading the article, "So, how old is it?", and came here expecting to start a new thread. I guess nobody cares much about this pub if no one bothers to furnish such basic information when asked. I vote for declaring the
Burger King in
Leicester Square the oldest pub in Britain, assuming no one will bother to challenge me.--
