This article, at multiple points, avers that Yaropolk died in 978, but this article's succession box and the article for his successor Vladimir the Great maintain that he died in 980. Which is correct? HavelockWilltravel ( talk) 13:43, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
Does anybody know more about cited "boyar Blud"? In family lords and counts of Zierotin is fame about origins of this family from this man, but nobody knows more. Thanks Zdenek Kucera
Thanks for reply. Yes, Zierotins claimed descent from Oleg (Kolga in family three), but in Zierotins family was first historical man named Blud of Bludov (cca 1200)and family lived in castle Bludov from 1200 today. And with Karel Mornstein-Zierotin, contemporaly head of family (and owner of castle Bludov), we think, that is more possible trace roots to Blud then to Oleg (and Rurik, of course). Why rurikid prince named his own castle after well known treasoner? But in case of ascendants of voivod Blud this looks more right. But this all is hidden in time... Zdenek Kucera
As was mentioned on the Kyiv talk page, some historical (mostly Russian) articles would need to be discussed before moving them to Kyiv. This is likely one of them. Fyunck(click) ( talk) 22:24, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
The year listed for Yaropolk's birth is questionable, the father is unlikely to have been 9 or 10 years old when Yaropolk was born. 2600:1700:850:8090:DCC6:4717:FA8F:2E6F ( talk) 03:31, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
