citing the Leighton book, which I cannot check. But the spelling surprised me. Japanese Wikipedia gives Ganto's Japanese name as がんとう. I am no expert on Japanese script but I would expect this to transliterate as Gantō rather than as Gānto. Are we sure that “Gānto” is correct? Is it possible that it is an error? At the very least, can someone check to see if this is the spelling actually given by Leighton? —
