This massacre is briefly mentioned in the thematic history of the City of Busselton's
Municipal Heritage Inventory. It cites this source (lightly edited for Wikipedia formatting): Green, Neville "Aborigines and White Settlers in the 19th Century" in Stannage, C T – A New History of Western Australia 1981: p88. Graham8716:42, 2 January 2021 (UTC)reply
An ABC Background Briefing podcast I heard on the radio in Melbourne at 12:02 hours, 20 September 2021 have additional and sometimes different accounts of this massacre. These were obtained from present-day Noongar descendants and settler descendants. One fact I can remember clearly was that Charles Bussel, not John, was involved in the massacre. The middle of the night is not the best time to follow this up!
