Burklemore1, you are supposed to leave a talk page note while unilaterally changing citation templates, per WP:CITEVAR. I am happy to forgive this as I believe the edits did indeed improved the article, except removing E. O. Wilson's quote which you are yet to add.
However your rationale for removing spaces and authorlinks borders on lying. It has nothing to do with expanding the rest of the article; if you have any hidden motive behind this please say so. And again you are supposed to discuss here per WP:BRD.
