The result of the move request was: Two moved as proposed but Bill Laird redirected to the DAB. That got complicated, but I judge rough consensus on all three of these results. Andrewa ( talk) 01:49, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
– William Laird IV is more popularly known as "Bill", as he uses that name on Facebook, as do multiple media outlets, such as this 2009 article by The Register-Herald in Beckley, WV [1] and 2015 article by West Virginia MetroNews [2]. As a county sheriff and state legislator in the US state of West Virginia, Bill Laird has had more real world influence than the 1920s ice hockey goalkeeper Bill Laird whose article is in the current "Bill Laird" space, so I recommend the name swap above per WP:COMMONNAME and WP:PRIMARYTOPIC.
On his father William R. Laird III, many sources do omit his middle initial, like the US Senate art and history section as well as the Fayette County Wall of Honor. I am recommending "William Laird III" per WP:NATURALDIS. Arbor to SJ ( talk) 19:49, 29 September 2017 (UTC) --Relisting. DrStrauss talk 20:48, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
