Exanpanded article, placed Albright in context of his times, gave overview of current standing and legacy. The original article was quite good, but I felt it bneeded further work in this direction. PiCo 09:26, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
"cleanup" notation because (perhaps inter alia) article lists 2 dates of death with no explanation. did he die on the international date line?

Why does "Holy Land!" have an exclamation mark after it? And is "Palestine and the Holy Land" a proper term for the area?-- 23.119.205.88 ( talk) 14:27, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

The first sentence of the last paragraph of the Historical research and hypotheses section says:
Other students such as Joseph Fitzmyer, Frank Moore Cross, Raymond E. Brown, and David Noel Freedman, became international leaders in the study of the Bible and the ancient Near East, including Northwest Semitic epigraphy and paleography.

Perhaps Gitin was part of that "first generation", and "Other students" is intended to be talking about (e.g.) the second "generation"? Or maybe Gitin is not considered to be one of Albright's "students"?

He was the director of the Albright Institute of Archaeological Research (AIAR) in Jerusalem from 1980 to 2014.[2]
Any comments? Thanks. Mike Schwartz ( talk) 20:38, 14 July 2023 (UTC)
