Could someone make a disambiguation page for "Bateson", and reference both this article and Gregory Bateson on it? At the moment "Bateson" redirects here, and I imagine most people are looking for Gregory, not William... == William Bateson and Charles DArwin were friends
The biography of William
Bateson refers to "a personal letter to Adam Sedgwick, dated April 18, 1905" and the link is to the geologist Adam Sedgwick who died in 1873. Is this a mistaken link, or is there some other mistake - William Bateson was only about twelve when Adam Sedgwick died.
With respect to disambiguation, if we are to have a disambiguation page for the various Batesons, we should also include Patrick Bateson, also known as: Sir (Paul) Patrick (Gordon) BATESON.

Can someone explain how the first public use of the word "genetics" could have happened at the "Third International Conference on GENETICS?" What did they talk about at the First Conference on Genetics?!? It took three years to notice that cool word in the conference title? :-) Sounds like a great Monty Python bit.

Has anyone else noticed that the spanish page has twice as much content as the English one? would someone care to translate the extra content?

I have cut the sentence mentioning his son (Gregory Bateson) which originally appeared in the "Career" section of the article and moved it upwards (to the lead). It seems that fatherhood is not an element of someone's career. So, I think it is more elegant if this piece of information comes in the lead section of the article. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.212.52.41 ( talk) 22:44, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

This bio is a real mess. First, it doesnt have the usual biography sections and it is completely hypertrophied in regards to his work and the overly long Publication list.. Wuerzele ( talk) 19:44, 29 June 2022 (UTC)
