Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:William Notman studios - Sitting Bull and Buffalo Bill (1895) edit.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on May 10, 2012. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2012-05-10. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :) Thanks! — howcheng { chat} 16:49, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
This article has been revised as part of a large-scale clean-up project of multiple article copyright infringement. (See the investigation subpage.) Prior content in this article duplicated one or more previously published sources. The material was copied from: http://segonku.unl.edu/~jheppler/showindian/about/. Copied or closely paraphrased material has been rewritten or removed and must not be restored, unless it is duly released under a compatible license. (For more information, please see "using copyrighted works from others" if you are not the copyright holder of this material, or "donating copyrighted materials" if you are.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or published material; such additions will be deleted. Contributors may use copyrighted publications as a source of information, and according to fair use may copy sentences and phrases, provided they are included in quotation marks and referenced properly. The material may also be rewritten, but only if it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Therefore such paraphrased portions must provide their source. Please see our guideline on non-free text for how to properly implement limited quotations of copyrighted text. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with these policies. Thank you. Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:12, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
One of the Native american performers mentioned is "Rains in face". There is an article on Rain-in-the-Face which fits to an extent with the claim made in this article but the article for him doesn't mention the shows. Kiore ( talk) 20:20, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

This article contains a warning on the front page that has been there for ten years. It hasn't been fixed because it can't be fixed, it would have to be re done completely from scratch. I won't list examples of the problems because some would think that if they make minor improvements on the points I mention then it would be okay. I will just say that any article that can't be fixed in ten years can't be fixed at all. Tupelo the typo fixer ( talk) 20:51, 6 October 2017 (UTC)
The Kasson reference doesn't go into the details of the Ghost Dance so I moved it to reflect that. Also removed a redundant reference in a single sentence to avoid clutter per WP:CITEFOOT, and WP:INLINECITECLUTTER.
As to the wording I don't' disagree with the statement or its inclusion but it seems unnecessary clunky and crude in its current wording:
My version which was reverted was paraphrased from the lead section of the main Ghost Dance article:
Perhaps we can come up with another version and a consensus to what to include in the article here? BaomoVW ( talk) 23:20, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
