In the diagram the Halbach arrays are aligned so that the strong field side is facing away from the e beam, and the weak field side is facing towards. Is this correct - and if so, why is it like this? 81.145.240.117 07:51, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
There is no medium to start lasing, and all radiation is emitted in the same direction of the electron beam anyway! These mirrors in FEL´s appear in many places, but nobody has been able to explain why they´re necessary. -- Maxus96 ( talk) 11:38, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
