For now I have changed the article title back to Whitford, Western Australia as that is what the area is commonly known as. The article title Whitford Development Scheme (entered by user Orderinchaos), was somewhat confusing as the article did not detail any such scheme.
I noticed that Orderinchaos also wrote the following related info when creating the Whitfords Avenue article:
“It took its name from the Whitford Satellite City development through which it was built in the 1970s, which was later split into the suburbs of Hillarys, Padbury, Kallaroo and Craigie.
Orderinchaos: If you have any historical info it would be great if you could add it to the article.
Thanks!

Just checked back (a couple of weeks later) to see your response. Thanks! Interesting info you seem to have here about the turbulent origins of the mysterious Whitford 'scheme'. The scheme may have not been fully realised but the name stuck. I wonder how many local residents have wondered about the origins of this name Whitford(s) which they see and hear so often... Keep up the good research! Betelgeusean 16:55, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
Forgot to get dates or titles for these :| Will have to check next time I'm at the Battye. I'll have to request the SoW files again too from SRO, I seem to have lost my written notes, which included Margaret Feilman naming Hillarys streets after sea-based explorers and Padbury streets after land-based ones in 1971ish.
