I've used the only BCN lock picture I could find, but since it doesn't link any of the named levels, and is on a canal not listed in the article, we probably need a more appropriate picture (or pictures)! Andy Mabbett 20:22, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
Some modern local historians dispute the line of the original pre-Smeaton 491 ft cut and even claim that it crossed west of the Telford New Line near to Brasshouse Lane. They say the footpath visible at the top of the hill in old photographs is not evidence of a previous canal. Will try to look further. I recall that this is deduced from artifacts rather than any possible maps, which would predate Ordnance Survey accuracy. Oosoom Talk 18:49, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
