"...are essentially laboratory test measures of the amount of oxygen in a wastewater. The amount of oxygen in a wastewater is in turn a measure of whether or not that wastewater will have a significant adverse effect upon fish or upon aquatic plant life."
Incorrect. It is the oxygen depletion, not the oxygen itself.
Actually I don't think that this article should exist. These arent the only quality indicators and BOD COD are covered elsewhere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.147.201.53 ( talk • contribs) June 10, 2006 (UTC)
on further review, I note that this entire article is within the article: wastewater. (with modifications) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.147.201.53 ( talk • contribs) June 11, 2006 (UTC)
Some more material needs to be added to cover other tests mentioned in water quality, or this article should be renamed to "water oxygen demand" or somesuch. -- Beland 17:04, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
I suggest this article should be moved to Water quality indicators whether or not the water is waste the indicators are still valid. It should include elements in Category:Water quality indicators-- Alex 15:16, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
