The route description needs to be properly updated. What I have written below is not a suitable replacement but it is a start. The maps are available at the USGS store Map Locator & Downloader. No direct links AFAIK. – Allen4 names ( IPv6 contributions) 06:37, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
From it's new southern terminus at Interstate 82 [a] state route 397 runs east concurrent with Benton County Road 397 [a] [b] to Finley Road. [c] It then runs north to Riek Road, east curving north to Piert Road to it's old southern terminus. [b] From there it runs north-northwest along Chemical Road in Kennewick to the Cable Bridge, then along 10th Avenue in Pasco, east along Ainsworth Street, and north along Oregon Avenue [b] until it reaches the interchange near the eastern terminus of Interstate 182.
